Mount House School

Our mission at Mount House School is to inspire lifelong learning within a nurturing, culturally creative and intellectually dynamic community.

At Mount House, every individual is valued and each child’s unique talents will be identified and nurtured. Students leave as able, articulate, balanced, caring, and well-rounded individuals with a genuine love of learning, ready to take on life’s challenges and opportunities, aware of the needs of others and confident in their ability to make a difference.

Mount House expects students to be the very best they can be and inspires them to make their best even better. Our overarching aim is that Mount House is a happy and successful School, with an excellent record of GCSE and A level results and an outstanding record of students achieving places at top universities. The School is equally concerned to foster the wide range of skills that help young students grow into capable adults with a sense of self-worth. Mount House supports students as they strive for academic excellence within a clear framework of personalised pastoral care and wellbeing that brings success without stress.

Successful schools are about the personal development of each child as an individual. This includes their academic qualifications, but just as important is development of the skills of leadership, teamwork and collaboration, resilience and self-awareness which will allow them to enjoy success, happiness and fulfilment in their adult lives. In a changing world, Mount House students find a sense of purpose, where they are supported and encouraged to have an open mind and immerse themselves in school life.

At Mount House, students combine endeavour with an enthusiastic engagement which extends well beyond the classroom. We are committed to providing the highest quality of education with breadth and balance for all. With a maximum capacity of 350 students, we are a small school with a significant sense of community. We encourage our students to aim high, to work hard to be the best they can be – whether it’s in the examination hall, on the sports field, or on the stage. Small classes and tutor groups where students will receive individual attention are critical to creating those opportunities, and this allows us to guide each student so that they, in turn, can contribute to the creation of a stimulating and supportive community.

Mount House is a place of learning, discovery, laughter and friendship – a place where students want to be. I consider it a great privilege to be able to lead a unique school which is able to offer such a wonderful educational experience.
