St George’s College, Weybridge
We achieve outstanding results in public exams yet purposefully don’t take part in national league tables, and are passionate about Value Added.
Value Added is a measure of a student’s progress, and the difference brilliant teaching and learning can make to the raw ability of a student. St George’s Value Added is in the top 5% of schools nationwide, and we are enormously proud that we help students achieve grades at GCSE and A Level beyond those expected.
Results speak volumes, and ours are as impressive as our facilities.
Both the Junior School and College have been awarded ‘excellent’ in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, and achieve results far above the national average. The combined efforts and dedication from our students and team across both schools has secured our position within the top UK schools for Value Added, proving we truly make a significant improvement to each student’s achievement.
Our pastoral care is intrinsic to our ethos, and we aim to create a warm and supportive learning environment in which all our children will feel happy, secure and valued for their own individual talents. There are numerous opportunities to develop responsibility, be creative and show initiative. Very high standards of behaviour are expected from the students as we seek to develop their appreciation for “politesse” or doing the right thing at the right time. The excellent strength of our pastoral care has been recognised in the last two Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspections as: “a notable feature of the school’s success.”
The Josephite ethos of the school supports a strong sense of family, where all students are valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential in an atmosphere of mutual respect and compassion.
This atmosphere aims to reach out to all families, Old Georgians, the local community and the wider world. St George's is proud to have a reputation for being a friendly school where all are individually known and valued equally, whatever their strengths and weaknesses. Great care is taken by the teaching staff to ensure that all students develop into confident and compassionate individuals, which will prepare them to play a responsible role in the shaping of society. It is our wish that during their time at St George's, our pupils and students will grow up within a community where Christian beliefs and principles are a guide for all that we do. This is evident in the liturgical life of our School and in the many ways we have of reaching out beyond our community.

Giving back, helping others, sharing skills – these happen through an attitude rather than individual deeds. This is where the Josephite values really come to the fore at St George’s. It’s a given; it’s in every assembly, in every tutor group and permeates every corridor. And for two weeks of the Summer Term every year, students have the opportunity to take part in GO!, our Georgian Outreach programme supporting local community projects for schools, farms, churches, residential homes and conservation charities. We are immensely proud that our students give so much of their time to charitable pursuits. While much of this work happens quietly but meaningfully within the local community, we also support our counterparts in the Congo raising money for St Joseph's African Aid, and participate every year in the special and often life-changing visits to Lourdes.
